Welcome to FORKLIFT TECH, the most convenient place to receive your Forklift Operator certification.
Our method of instruction is the easy way to get the training you need to comply with federal regulations and make you a safer operator.
It lets you work at your own speed in a relaxed environment.
After taking the course, you will KNOW the material, you will UNDERSTAND it, and you will make a 100% SCORE on your final exam.
First, let's look at how it works.
Using your mouse, click on the NEXT button at the bottom right of the page.
Your training is divided into the Online Training which you are using now and the Hands On Training given by your employer after completing the online training.
The online training is divided into sections to make it easier to pause the training.
The section you are looking at now is called "Welcome to Students" where you will learn how the course is organized and how the controls work.
The buttons at the bottom of the page allow you to page ahead, page back, or repeat the page.
As you can see, you control the pace of the program.
After logging in and clicking on the type of training which has been purchase for you by your employer, your Training Progress Page appears which displays all the Training Sections and shows those that have been completed.
The text at the top of the page indicates the number of days remaining for you to complete the online portion of the training.
The last page of every Section contains a "Section Complete" button. Clicking this button records completion of that Section and takes you back to your Training Progress page.
If the "Section Complete" button is not clicked, completion of this section will not be recorded to your Training Progress page and you will not be able to proceed to the next section.
Once back on your Training Progress page, click the CONTINUE TRAINING button and the next Training Section will appear.
After you have finished all the Training Sections and have taken the final test, your online course work is complete.
After completing your online course work, please tell your ADMINISTRATOR that you are ready to receive the On Site portion of your training, normally given by your Company TRAINER.
After your On Site training is complete, you will become a Certified Forklift OPERATOR.
We recommend that you take the Refresher Training once every 6 months.
FORKLIFT TECH delivers its courses on any computer available to you with an Internet connection.
You can start and stop any time you want.
You can go at any speed you like.
The final test is designed to accept only correct answers, so you can only get a perfect score.
Colorful graphics and animation make the training easy to follow and interesting.
We recommend that you don't spend more than 20 minutes per day on this course.
Although you can take the entire course in a single session, sitting in front of a computer screen for that length of time can be difficult.
If your mind is rested you will learn more easily.
It's possible you have a wealth of prior experience, BUT your Company is required to train you to meet Federal OSHA Requirements.
These regulations state that before you become a Forklift OPERATOR, your employer is required to train you and have a record of that training.
These regulations also specify exactly what areas of training must be covered.
FORKLIFT TECH provides much of that training, but your company TRAINER or other designated individual will provide you with On Site Training and testing.
Federal regulations are not the only reason a good training program is important to you.
Forklift accidents cause over 35,000 serious injuries and approximately 100 fatalities every year in the United States.
It is estimated that one fourth of all these accidents are caused, at least in part, by POOR TRAINING.
Since serious injury and death are much too common, it is important for you and your employer to take every available step to make you a safer forklift operator.
Throughout your training, three symbols will be used to provide emphasis to safety issues.
The first is a DANGER of death or serious personal injury.
The second is a WARNING of possible personal injury to yourself or others nearby.
The third is a CAUTION of possible damage to the forklift or other nearby equipment.
Whenever you see these symbols, you are being reminded of the importance to safety of that particular information.
